On the Dish, the cast pays tribute to Edie Windsor, whos activism and fight against the American Federal Government to invalidate DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) and her subsequent victory, gave the LGBT community on of its biggest victories. Tom talks about Danica Roem, a 32 year old journalist and stepmom from Manassas, Virginia who made history on Tuesday when she defeated the other Democrats in that states primary to become the very ever transgender candidate to win a primary in that state. Chris fills us in on “Voices for Chechnya” which is a New York based group demanding US action on the atrocities in the Russian State. Nick aka Trish talks about Lena Waithe and Aziz Ansari’s win at the Emmy’s and what it means for visibility within minority communities.

Signature Cocktail
Ingredients
- 2 ounces light rum
- 2 ounces dark rum
- 2 ounces passion fruit juice
- 1 ounce orange juice
- Juice of half a lime
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup
- 1 tablespoon grenadine
Preparation
Squeeze juice from half a lime into cocktail shaker over ice, pour the remaining ingredients into the shaker and shake well. Strain into a hurricane glass. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.
