June 12th 2016, Club Pulse gained international attention as it was the scene of the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman in U.S. history, and the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since the events of September 11, 2001. 49 people were killed and 53 were injured. Tony Marrero was one of the survivors. His friend and companion that evening Luis Vielma was not so fortunate. He died in the tragedy.
Tony has been on a long and slow road to recovery ever since. His journey has led him to start #BeTheLight. A movement to empower those suffering through the recovery process. He recently appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show where Tony Marrero was surprised by one of his favorite artist, Katy Perry. Ellen donated $25,000,00 to the Orlando Pulse Victims Fund.
